High Cliff

The walk up to High Cliff from Bude takes you along the South West Coast Path where the landscape opens up properly - sudden drops, raw cliff faces, the sea churning below. It's not a long slog: maybe forty minutes from town if you're not dawdling, though the final push gets steep enough to earn your breath back. Once you're up there, the views sweep right along the Cornish coast, and on a clear day you can see for miles. Kids will manage it fine, though the path does have some gnarly bits and there's genuine exposure in places, so watch smaller ones. Allow a couple of hours if you want to sit about and soak it in.
