Birdwatchers will get more out of it than most, but it's equally good for a straightforward woodland walk if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks. Riverside Valley Camping is closest at under five miles, though Waleswood has the higher ratings if you're after facilities. The park works as a decent half-day stop during a wider South Yorkshire holiday - not a blockbuster attraction, but the sort of place that reminds you why you came to this part of the country in the first place. It's the antidote to a day spent indoors.
