Head Hill

Head Hill is a straightforward walk that rewards you with proper views across Dumfries and the surrounding Lowlands - nothing fancy, but solid countryside rambling. The peak itself sits just outside town, making it one of those rare local walks you can knock out in an afternoon without the faff of driving for hours.

It's a moderate climb, the kind that gets your lungs working but won't destroy you. From the summit you get a decent panorama across the town and out towards the hills beyond.
