The birdwatching is genuinely good here - bring binoculars and you'll spot things you wouldn't see anywhere near the formal gardens. It's less busy than the palace grounds, which makes it worth the extra effort to find.

Walkers get the most from this. It's flat, manageable terrain with proper trails, ideal if you want fresh air without scrambling up hills. Kids will enjoy it for an hour or so, though they'll get bored if you're expecting rides and attractions - this is proper nature reserve stuff, not a theme park vibe.
