Grey Goose

The Grey Goose marina sits right on the water near Peterstone, offering a proper working waterfront that feels lived-in rather than polished up for tourists. Boats bob at their moorings, a handful of fishing vessels alongside leisure craft, and there's usually someone tinkering with an engine or coiling rope. It's the sort of place where you get a genuine sense of Norfolk's maritime life rather than a sanitised version of it.

You can walk the quayside, grab a drink or bite if the on-site facilities are running, and watch the activity without needing to commit to anything elaborate. It's free to wander, takes about 45 minutes to an hour if you're moving at a leisurely pace, though you could spend longer just sitting on a bench watching the water.

Families with younger kids might find it brief - there's not much to do beyond looking at the boats and perhaps spotting water birds. Walkers and photography types will get more from it, especially early morning or late afternoon when the light's better. It works well as a break during a park holiday in the area. The Norfolk Brickyard is only 1.9 miles away, so you could easily fit this in as a morning walk before heading back to your accommodation. Deepdale Camping and Pinewoods are also within easy reach.

Go when the weather's decent - it's exposed to the elements and loses its appeal in heavy rain.
