Green Clump

Dense woodland that feels genuinely isolated despite being just outside Peterstone - you won't find crowds here, which is either brilliant or a bit underwhelming depending on what you're after. The forest is properly thick with mature trees creating that proper dark canopy even on bright days, and the paths wind through enough natural variation that it doesn't feel like walking through a plantation.

It's walkers' territory, full stop. Families with young kids might manage an hour before restlessness sets in - there's no playground or specific "attractions", just trees and paths. History buffs won't find much. But if you're after a genuine Norfolk woodland walk that doesn't require fighting through half of East Anglia's tourist population, this delivers.

Bring proper boots if it's been wet. There's no visitor infrastructure that I could find, so no cafe or facilities - come prepared. A solid hour to ninety minutes gives you enough to feel like you've actually walked somewhere rather than just looped round the car park.

Works well paired with either Pinewoods or Deepdale if you're based at one of those parks and want a morning woodland stomp before heading elsewhere. It's the sort of place locals know about and visitors miss, which frankly suits Green Clump fine.
