Grand Prix Exhibition

The Grand Prix Exhibition sits just outside Addlestone and tells the story of British motorsport in a way that actually makes sense if you grew up watching F1 on Sunday afternoons. It's a proper deep dive into racing history - the sort of place where you'll find yourself spending longer than you expected, reading old programme notes and examining vintage helmets up close.

You get to see cars that won championships, photographs of drivers from eras you thought you knew about but didn't really, and the sort of technical detail that either fascinates you completely or sends you to sleep. Gear enthusiasts and anyone with a genuine interest in motorsport history will find plenty to absorb. Kids might engage if they're into cars already, but it's not theme-park entertainment - there's a lot of reading involved.

The exhibition works well as a half-day stop if you're based at one of the nearby parks in Chertsey or using Weybridge Park Estates as your base. Addlestone itself is unremarkable, but it's convenient transport-wise and close enough to Surrey's other attractions that you can couple it with a walk or visit somewhere else the same afternoon.

I'd suggest calling ahead for current opening times and admission prices before you go - details change and you don't want a wasted journey. Allow two to three hours if you're genuinely interested in the subject matter. Casual visitors might find an hour quite enough.
