Goltho Fishing Lakes

Three lakes surrounded by proper countryside, just outside Lincoln - that's Goltho in a nutshell. The fishing here is the main draw, and if you're after a day with a rod in hand, the waters are well-stocked and peaceful. Non-anglers won't find much to do, to be honest. There's no cafe, no play area, no walking trail that justifies a special trip on its own. You come here to fish or you don't come at all.

For families based at Shortferry Caravan Park or Seven Acre Farm Campsite nearby, it's worth knowing about if anyone in the group fishes. Serious anglers will want to phone ahead and check day-ticket prices and what species they're stocking that week. The setting is genuinely nice - tree-lined banks, quiet, the kind of spot where you can actually hear yourself think. Allow half a day minimum if you're fishing; a couple of hours if you're just having a look around.

Lincoln itself is three miles away, so you're not isolated. If fishing's not your thing, head into the cathedral city instead or explore the bigger attractions nearby. But if you've got someone in the caravan who's keen on coarse fishing, Goltho fills that gap without fuss. Just don't expect facilities or entertainment beyond the water.
