Goffs Park

Birdwatchers and wildlife photographers get genuinely absorbed here - bring binoculars and allow a solid two hours if you're serious about it. Casual walkers can loop it in forty-five minutes without feeling cheated.

Timing matters. Early morning in spring is when the place comes alive - migrants and residents both. Summer gets warmer and the vegetation thickens, which some prefer for cover-spotting; others find it less open. The car park situation is straightforward enough, and there's no entry fee, which is proper value.

If you're camped at Gatwick Caravan and Motorhome Club Site nearby, this is an easy escape from motorway drone - close enough for a half-morning visit before heading elsewhere. Worth Forest Glamping and Sunset Tree Camping are slightly further afield but make this a reasonable add-on if you're spending a week in the area. It's not a destination on its own, but it's absolutely the sort of place that makes a park-based Sussex break feel properly outdoorsy rather than just parked up.
