Glenwynd Wood

The woodland paths through Glenwynd Wood near Stirling are proper easy-going terrain, nothing strenuous, which makes it a genuine relief after a few days of proper hiking. That's either brilliant or a bit dull depending on your mood. Allow ninety minutes without rushing, or forty-five if you're just stretching your legs.

It's close enough to Glasgow that you could visit as a half-day break from city wandering, and being near The WHW Hotel & Campsite means you've got proper accommodation sorted if you're basing yourself in the area. The woodland fills a slot between the Stirling attractions and the bigger regional parks - useful as a quieter alternative when you want fewer people about.
