Glas Bheinn

The walk up Glas Bheinn rewards you with one of the sharpest views in the Kinlochleven area. This isn't a gentle ramble - it's a proper hill that demands respect and decent boots, but the Highland panorama from the top makes the grunt worthwhile.

You're looking at roughly two hours up, depending on fitness and how often you stop to catch your breath. The path starts straightforward enough but gets steeper as you climb, with loose scree in places that'll test your ankles. On a clear day the view across the lochs and mountains is genuinely excellent. On a grey day, honestly, you might as well save your energy for something else.

Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not a peak-bagging slog like Ben Nevis, and the Kinlochleven setting means you're not fighting crowds. Families with older kids who can handle three or four hours of solid walking will manage fine. Younger children will likely find it tedious.

The nearby Blackwater Hostel, Glamping & Campsite sits about four and a half miles away and gives you a decent base if you're planning a proper walking weekend.
