About Beinn Fhada
It's not a technical climb. The path is well-worn from the A82 side, and most walkers tackle it as a halfway point on a bigger day out rather than a destination in itself. Count on three to four hours for the round trip if you're taking your time. The ground can be boggy lower down, especially after rain, so proper boots matter here - trainers will leave your feet soaked.
This one works best for hill walkers with some experience rather than casual strollers. The views alone aren't remarkable enough to justify the slog if you're not already keen on peaks. That said, it's a decent option if you're based at one of the local campsites - Red Squirrel Campsite or Glenshiel are both within easy striking distance of Kinlochleven - and you want to bag a Munro-adjacent peak without the full commitment of Ben Nevis.
Summer is the obvious choice, though winter ascents are possible if you know what you're doing. Go early in the day; the weather can turn properly savage up there, and you'll want daylight on your side.
