About Gask Hill
The summit sits around 500 metres and gives you sight lines south towards the Ochill Hills and west across towards the Highlands proper. On a clear day you can pick out the shape of the landscape all the way to the Firth of Forth. The path itself is straightforward enough, well-trodden and generally dry underfoot unless it's been hammering with rain.
Families with kids aged eight and up will find it manageable. Much younger and you're looking at a lot of carrying, though the views from halfway up are quite good if you fancy a shorter version. Serious walkers will likely find it a touch easy - it's more of a pleasant morning excursion than a proper challenge.
Pick a weekday in autumn or spring if you can. Summer brings crowds from Perth, and winter can get muddy. The nearest decent spots for camping are Beech Hedge, just over five miles from Perth town centre, or if you're club members, South Valleyfield. Both are reasonable bases for exploring this corner of Tayside without being right on top of the hill itself. Park in Perth and head out from there - it's straightforward enough to navigate.
