These days it houses contemporary art and craft work, rotating exhibitions that actually make you stop and think rather than shuffle through in twenty minutes.

Inside you'll find local and regional artists showing everything from painting and sculpture to jewellery and textiles. It's small enough that you won't get gallery fatigue, substantial enough that it's worth the trip from Shipley town centre. The space itself is intimate - no pretence, no velvet ropes.

Art enthusiasts and makers will get the most from a visit. It's not a blockbuster venue, so if your kids need dinosaurs or interactive screens they'll be bored within ten minutes. But if you're staying at Moor Valley Country Park just down the road and fancy something different on a drizzly afternoon, this does the job.

Timing-wise, allow an hour unless there's a particularly ambitious exhibition on. Check ahead for opening hours and entry charges before you go - these smaller galleries can be a bit variable about when they're actually open. The Bronte Country Park nearby is also worth a morning if you're in the area, though it's a different beast altogether. Gallery 92 works best as part of a Shipley wander - there's decent coffee shops and a decent high street to pad out your day.
