What you get is a proper woodland walk through mature trees with landscaped areas that feel genuinely peaceful rather than manicured to death. The pathways wind down into the valley itself, which has a nice sense of discovery about it, and there's enough topography to make it more interesting than a flat park stroll.

Historically minded visitors will appreciate the grounds' connection to local monastic life, though there's not masses of obvious heritage infrastructure - you're really here for the walk rather than an interpretation trail. The woodland setting means it works well year-round; spring brings bluebells in decent numbers, and autumn colours are respectable.
