The museum sits just outside March in Cambridgeshire, making it a solid rainy-day option if you're camping at Fenland or Knightsbridge nearby.

You'll get proper value if you're into natural history or have kids old enough to care about dinosaurs and prehistoric seas. Younger children might find it a bit static - there's only so long a five-year-old will stare at rocks, however old they are. The fossils themselves are genuinely impressive, though, and the specimens are clearly displayed without the usual museum fuss.
