Right, heads up - Folkestone Library is currently closed, so you won't be popping in for a browse just yet. When it does reopen, it's the sort of place that appeals to a very specific crowd: anyone seeking a quiet afternoon with a book, families after free activities on a rainy day, or locals after using the computers. Libraries aren't holiday highlights, frankly, unless you're genuinely desperate for a read you've run out of or need to kill time before catching a train to somewhere better.

The venue normally opens weekday mornings from half nine, with Saturday service until half four and Sunday hours from ten. Free admission, naturally. How long to spend there? Thirty minutes to an hour, maximum - you're not talking about an experience that'll fill a day. It's functional, not memorable.

If you're based at one of the nearby parks - Varne Ridge Holiday Park sits just two and a half miles away, or Greenhill Glamping slightly further out - a library visit works as a last resort on weather days. Folkestone itself has proper coastal appeal with the seafront and white cliffs, so spend your time there instead. The library serves a purpose for residents and occasional visitors, but it's not why you've driven to Kent.
