You'll find this rather striking statue tucked away in Aberdeenshire's Highland landscape, a gallery space that punches above its weight for a rural setting. The Flora Statue itself is the centrepiece - a bold sculptural work that commands attention, though the surrounding gallery space offers rotating exhibitions that tend to lean towards contemporary and traditional Scottish art.

It's not a massive undertaking. Most visitors spend an hour here, maybe ninety minutes if you're genuinely engaged with what's on the walls. The real draw is the juxtaposition: serious art in the middle of nowhere, which somehow makes it feel more important rather than less. Families with older kids who can appreciate sculpture will get something from it; younger children might find it a bit of a hard sell unless they're naturally inclined toward galleries.

Arbroath, the nearest proper town, sits a few miles away and offers the usual services if you need lunch after. The location works well if you're based at either The Grange Glamping nearby (exceptional reviews, 4.9 stars) or Dovecot Caravan Park for a longer Highland stay. You could easily string this together with other cultural stops in the region, though it's not the sort of place that'll pull you out of your way unless you're already exploring Aberdeenshire.
