Ferry Beach

Ferry Beach sits on Fleetwood's seafront, a proper stretch of sand that doesn't get the crowds you'd find down at Blackpool. The beach itself is decent enough - wide at low tide, backed by a promenade with the usual cafés and chip shops. What makes it worth a visit is the vantage point. From here you can see across the Wyre estuary toward Knott End, and on a clear day the views northwards along the Lancashire coast are rather good.

The beach suits families who want a straightforward seaside session without the amusement arcade chaos. Walkers will find the promenade connects nicely to other stretches of the coast, so it's easy to build a longer route if you fancy it. The sand's firm enough for a proper walk, and there's decent shell-hunting at certain tides.

It's free to access, naturally, and you can spend anywhere from an hour pottering about to half a day if you combine it with a wander into Fleetwood town itself. The seafront can feel a touch tired in places, and the beach won't blow your mind, but it's a solid call if you're staying at Wilson House Holiday Park or Mill House Farm Pods nearby. Come at low tide if you want the full expanse of sand. The light's best in the afternoon, especially towards sunset when the estuary lights up properly.
