The bridge itself is modest - a stone arch spanning a small burn with a distinctly Scottish Highland feel. Locals tie ribbons and fabric scraps to the railings as offerings to the fairies, which gives the whole place an oddly moving quality despite its simple appearance.

Why bother? Because it's utterly free, takes about twenty minutes to reach on foot, and offers genuine atmosphere without any of the theme-park nonsense. The glen around it is genuinely lovely for a walk, and you'll likely have the place to yourself outside summer weekends. Families with primary-school-aged kids will find the fairy folklore angle engaging, though under-fives might find the walk in a bit much.

Oban Camping and Caravanning Club Site is another five miles on, both well-positioned for mixing this sort of cultural spot with proper Highland walking.
