Eastnor Lake

The lake sits tucked behind Eastnor Castle, about three miles from Malvern town centre, and it's a proper lovely spot for a walk that doesn't demand much effort. You're looking at a substantial stretch of water ringed by woodland - the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think, which is rare enough these days.

There's a decent walking trail that loops round the perimeter. It takes roughly an hour at a gentle pace, and the path is well-maintained, though it can get muddy after rain. The views across the water are genuinely good, especially if the light's right in the late afternoon. You'll see the castle itself looming through the trees on one side - all dramatic stonework and turrets - which adds to the whole scene.

Families with young kids will get an hour's entertainment here easily, though you won't hold their attention much longer than that unless they're keen water-spotters. Walkers and photographers will find it rewarding; the reflections on calm days are worth the trip alone. It's free to access and there's space to park near the castle grounds.
