What you're getting here is landscape rather than a single attraction - think walking country. Early morning in spring when the bluebells are out is something special, though any season works if you pick your weather.

Walkers will get the most from this. It's not a park you visit for an afternoon - it's terrain you explore over several hours or across multiple days. Families with older kids who don't mind a decent walk will find it rewarding. Younger children might flag once the novelty of trees wears off.

It's free to access, as these landscapes are. Allow at least three or four hours if you're doing a proper walk from Petersfield. The nearby Cedar Valley campsite sits less than a mile away, making this a natural pairing for a camping trip - Woodlands Camping at 4.4 miles is another solid base. Either way, you're not coming here for facilities or visitor centres. You're coming for the walking and the uncluttered views. That's the point, really.
