This is absolutely for festival-goers rather than day-trippers, and it works best if you go in with no expectations. The magic happens when you've wandered away from the main stages and find yourself in a corner watching something you didn't know existed five minutes earlier. Families with older kids and teenagers get the most out of it - younger children tend to lose interest once the novelty of coloured lights wears off.

If you're camping at one of the nearby sites - Winchester Morn Hill Caravan Club is closest at less than a mile away - you're well positioned for the festival. Holden Farm Camping is only a couple of miles further and has a café on site if you need breakfast before heading in.
