Dyserth Castle

What's left of Dyserth Castle sits quietly on a hillside between Rhyl and Conwy, and honestly, you need to manage expectations. This is a ruin - proper ruins, the kind where you're picking your way through overgrown stone and trying to work out which wall was what. Built in the 13th century, it's one of those Welsh castles that saw brief importance and then centuries of gradual collapse. Getting there means leaving Rhyl, which is only a few miles south - close enough for a morning trip from Golden Sands Holiday Park or Parkdean Resorts Ty Mawr if you're based nearby.
