Dunoon Skate Park

Dunoon's skate park sits right on the waterfront, giving you that slightly surreal experience of dropping in with views across the Firth of Clyde. It's a proper community setup - concrete bowls, street lines, and enough transitions to keep most riders occupied for a solid session. The park's free, which helps, and it rarely gets rammed even in peak season.

This is squarely for skateboarders and BMX riders aged roughly ten upwards. Younger kids might find it intimidating unless they're confident on a board already. The real advantage here isn't the facility itself - it's honest, well-maintained, but nothing you couldn't find in any decent-sized town - it's the location. You can take a break, grab chips from Dunoon's seafront, and actually enjoy some space around you.

If you're staying at Hunters Quay Holiday Village, you're basically on the doorstep, which makes it worth an hour or so if you've got board-obsessed teenagers in tow. The other parks - The Secret Glen, Beach House Pods, and Stratheck - are a short drive away, so it works as a half-day stop rather than a full day's entertainment. Weather matters more than you'd think here; Argyll gets rain, and a wet concrete park loses its appeal fast.

Worth timing around other waterfront walks and the town's proper attractions, but don't expect it to anchor your holiday.
