Right, first thing to say: this isn't actually a nature reserve, despite what the listing claims. Dundee FC's home at Dens Park is a football stadium in Dundee itself - proper industrial bit of the city - though Tayport nearby does have some decent green space if that's what you're after. The club's been going since 1879, and the ground has that genuine working-class football atmosphere you don't find everywhere anymore. Match days are electric if you can get tickets; non-match days, you can usually wander round the stadium shop or catch tours when they're running, though hours vary so best ringing ahead. It's not going to blow your mind architecturally - it's a proper old-school Scottish ground with character rather than glamour. If you're staying at Tayport Links or Larick Campsite nearby, you're only 15 minutes away, which makes it a reasonable half-day option if someone in your group is football-mad. The Tayport waterfront itself is more interesting for a stroll - bit quieter, actual views of the Tay. Fair point though: unless you're a Dark Blues supporter or keen on Scottish football history, you're better off spending your time elsewhere. Families might find a match day exciting if the kids are into football, but otherwise it's a quick photo stop rather than a proper morning out.
