Dore & Totley United Reformed Church

A modest Victorian church sitting quietly on the edge of Dore, just outside Dronfield - the sort of place you'd walk past without thinking twice if you didn't know what you were looking at. The United Reformed Church is worth a pause though, particularly if you're interested in late 19th-century religious architecture or simply fancy a moment of calm between camping trips.

But if you're camping nearby at Secret Wood Glamping or Riverside Valley, it's a pleasant five-minute wander from the main road and breaks up a day nicely. The churchyard itself is peaceful, with views across towards the countryside beyond Dronfield.

Access is likely unrestricted during daylight, though it's worth checking ahead if you want to go inside - these small congregations keep irregular hours. Best visited as part of a broader ramble round the area rather than as a destination in itself. Ideal if you've got a partner who wants to potter around village churches while you're genuinely interested in local history. Not one for the kids unless they're already into architecture.
