Creag na Coille Dorcha

The walk up Creag na Coille Dorcha is proper straightforward compared to some of the Highlands' bigger pulls, which means you can bag a decent summit without needing to set your alarm at 4am. The landscape around here is typically Highland - open, windswept, a bit raw - so don't expect woodland shelter all the way up. Most people allow two to three hours for the round trip depending on fitness and how long you potter about at the top taking photos.

Walkers will get the most satisfaction here. Families with younger kids might find it a slog unless everyone's keen on hills. The terrain is moorland and open ground, which means it can get boggy after rain, so proper boots are non-negotiable.
