About Creag Each
This is walker territory, pure and simple. Families with older kids who've done a few hills will find it manageable; younger ones might grumble at the climb. History buffs get less here than they'd at other Perthshire peaks, but the landscape itself tells stories - rolling glens, distant mountains, that sense of standing somewhere ancient and windswept.
The route's best tackled from the south side, starting near the glen roads that feed off towards Balquhidder. There's rough ground underfoot and exposure on the higher stretches, so proper boots beat trainers. Avoid the wet season if you can - the ground gets boggy and miserable. Summer and early autumn are ideal.
If you're based at Loch Earn Leisure Park just down the road, Creag Each makes an excellent afternoon push without needing to travel far. The park sits perfectly for accessing this and other local peaks. Balquhidder Braes, further south, works too if you don't mind a short drive. Either way, it's the kind of hill that gets in your legs and stays with you - nothing flashy, just good honest walking.
