Craven Brew

The smell hits you first when you walk into Craven Brew - proper hoppy, yeasty air that tells you they're making serious beer here. It's a working brewery in Keighley, Lancashire, and they do tours where you can see exactly how the magic happens: from the grain to the final pour. You'll walk past copper vessels, learn about fermentation times, and understand why their blonde ales taste nothing like the watery stuff from the supermarket.

This isn't a theme park experience. There's no gift shop or soft play area. If you're into craft beer, brewing processes, or just want to know where proper local ale comes from, you'll spend a couple of hours here easily. The staff actually know their stuff and will chat through the whole process without making it feel like a school trip.

Families with teenagers who like food and drink might enjoy it. Small children? Not really their bag. Drinkers will leave with the ability to talk sense about IBUs and body profiles at the pub.

You're well-placed if you're based at Woodsworth Exploring or Shay Gate Farm Campsite nearby. Both are top-rated spots for a Lancashire break. Keighley itself has decent cafes and restaurants, so you could make a half-day of it - brewery visit, lunch somewhere, maybe a walk around Worth Valley. The brewery works best midweek when tours are smaller and less rushed.
