It's the kind of place art enthusiasts will linger in for a good hour or more, but honestly, families with young kids might find it a bit underwhelming unless they're already into galleries. The real draw is how it fits into a wider Stow-on-the-Wold afternoon - you can bounce between the galleries, the bookshops, the tea rooms. It doesn't demand you devote your whole holiday to it.

I'd recommend popping in if you're staying at one of the nearby glamping spots like Cotswolds Meadow or the Moreton-in-Marsh Experience Freedom location - both are close enough that Stow is easily reached for a cultural morning before heading back to your accommodation. Bluewood Lodges, sitting at 5.2 miles out, is slightly further but still manageable for a day trip. The stone-built charm of Stow itself is half the appeal anyway.

The walk around the town's High Street afterwards is genuinely lovely, and you'll find decent independent cafes once you've had your fill of whatever's on the walls. Not life-changing, but a solid addition to a Cotswolds break if you've got an hour to spare.
