Corpus Christi Catholic Church

The red-brick Victorian bulk of Corpus Christi sits just outside Tring, impossible to miss if you're driving through the town. It's a proper statement of a building - all Gothic Revival confidence and unapologetic Catholic grandeur from an era when such things still mattered architecturally. Inside, you'll find the sort of detailed stonework and stained glass that rewards a slow wander: nothing flashy, but genuinely well-crafted period stuff.

Unless you're keenly interested in Victorian ecclesiastical architecture or have a specific reason to visit, you won't spend more than twenty minutes here. That said, if you're stopping in Tring anyway - and it's a decent enough market town with decent pubs - it's worth a quick look. The exterior photographs reasonably well if you're that way inclined.

It's free to pop in during opening hours, which you'll want to check locally as they're not well-advertised online. The Tring area is popular with walkers heading up into the Chilterns, and there's proper countryside close by. If you're based at Chiltern Yurts (just 2.5 miles away) or Norcott Campsite, you could easily combine this with a longer ramble rather than making it a destination on its own. The rolling Chiltern landscape is the real draw here - the church is just a convenient stop on the way through. Book in advance if you're staying at either site, especially in summer.
