The condition of the greens is solid, and the routing takes advantage of the topography well. This is a club course first, friendly to visiting golfers, though you'll want to ring ahead to check availability and get current green fees sorted. Allow a full morning or afternoon - it's walkable and not brutally long, so even moderate players can enjoy themselves without burning out. The back nine especially offers decent challenges without feeling punishing. Best visited in spring or early autumn when the weather plays ball and the views aren't obscured by midges. Families with older teenagers who golf will get more from it than younger kids, obviously. The major advantage is proximity to the holiday parks scattered along this stretch - Sandyhills Bay is just over the road, and Castle Point sits at 2.3 miles. It slots perfectly into a week where you're mixing outdoor stuff with caravan park facilities. Kippford is nearby too if you want to make a day of it with the club and some coastal wandering. Worth a round if you're staying locally and fancy proper golf rather than crazy golf.
