Collingwood's Hill

The walk up Collingwood's Hill rewards you with proper views across the Lincolnshire Wolds - the sort of landscape that makes you understand why people bother with the East Midlands at all. It's not Alpine, but it's the highest point around Market Rasen and that counts for something when you're in this part of the world. The climb itself is straightforward, nothing that'll leave you gasping, and on a clear day you can see enough rolling countryside to justify the effort.

The Wolds National Landscape designation means the terrain feels properly maintained and the paths are clear. If you're based at one of the nearby parks - Into the Wild Glamping or Lindsey Trail Touring Park are both proper outfits - this works as a half-morning adventure. Families with older kids will manage it fine. Little ones might find it a bit dull unless they're the sort who get excited about 'I can see for miles' vistas.
