The mine itself is basically a series of stone workings and spoil heaps scattered across the slope - nothing glamorous, but that's precisely what makes it interesting. You're looking at raw evidence of how seriously folk once took extracting precious metal from Scottish rock, and the landscape tells that story without needing interpretation boards.

The site appeals most to history buffs and anyone keen on industrial archaeology. Walkers will enjoy it as a moderate detour rather than a destination in itself - maybe an hour including the climb. The views back towards Loch Fyne are decent, which sweetens the visit. Kids might find it underwhelming unless they're already into ruins and old mines; there's no playground aspect to it.
