Cleugh Wood

The woodland path through Cleugh Wood climbs steadily from the edge of Dalbeattie, and within five minutes you've left the town proper behind. It's properly quiet - the kind of place where you notice birdsong again. The trees are mixed deciduous and conifer, nothing rare or spectacular, but there's something reassuring about that.
