Inside is where it gets interesting - you're looking at a ceiling that's actually worth craning your neck for, and the sort of carved wooden bits that remind you why people made pilgrimages to places like this.

It's a working parish church, so opening times depend on services and the vicar's schedule. Worth phoning ahead or checking the door notice. Free to wander round, obviously, and you'll spend twenty minutes here if you're into ecclesiastical architecture, maybe ten if you're just ticking boxes.

Historically minded visitors will get proper value from this one. The tower's a navigational landmark for miles around - you'll spot it driving through the levels. Kids tend to find it either fascinating or dead boring depending on their age; teenagers especially might struggle to see why they're standing in a cold stone building when they could be literally anywhere else.

If you're camped at Thorney Lakes, it's just over a mile away, so easily done as a quick morning mooch before heading out walking or visiting nearby attractions. Langport itself is small but not charmless, and the church is genuinely its best feature. Worth the detour if you're in the area, but not worth planning a trip around.
