Christ the King Church

The massive concrete figure of Christ the King Church dominates the skyline above Omagh like some kind of brutalist sentinel. It's not subtle, and that's rather the point - this 1970s structure was built to make a statement, and four decades later it still does.

Inside, the church is surprisingly intimate despite its imposing exterior. The white interior floods with light through tall windows, and the altar sits beneath that enormous Christ figure that gives the place its name. It's functional rather than ornate, which either works for you or it doesn't.
