Lough Fingrean

Lough Fingrean is a proper tidy stretch of water between Fermanagh and Omagh, the sort of place that doesn't announce itself loudly but rewards a detour if you're in the area. It's quiet - genuinely quiet - with grassy banks and a handful of spots to pull over and actually look at the thing rather than just drive past it.

The lake itself is manageable for a walk. Bank walks are straightforward enough, nothing that requires serious hiking boots, though you'll want wellies if there's been rain. The views aren't dramatic - this is understated Ulster landscape, all soft greens and grey skies - but they're the sort of views that grow on you.
