Chalmers Lighthouse

You can walk right up to it from the harbour front, which takes maybe five minutes from the town centre. That said, there's something rather satisfying about standing in front of something that's been doing its job reliably for well over a century. Access and opening hours aren't straightforward - the lighthouse isn't formally set up as a tourist attraction with posted times. Your best bet is asking locally when you arrive in Anstruther, or checking with the harbour master's office. It's free to view from outside, which is what most visitors do anyway.

Stay at Silverdyke or Kilrenny Mill, both under a mile away, and you've got the lighthouse as a pleasant twenty-minute wander from your pitch. It works well as part of a broader Anstruther afternoon rather than a destination in itself - pair it with the Scottish Fisheries Museum and a proper fish supper, and you've got a solid few hours sorted.
