Free to access, no facilities to speak of, so bring water and decent footwear.

Best visited spring through autumn when the paths aren't boggy. Winter can be grim here, all mud and dripping trees. Worth the detour if you're in the area? Yes, but only if you actually enjoy walking through woodland without the crowds. If you need a cafe afterwards, you'll need to plan ahead.
