Campion Hill Cycle Track

The cycle track at Campion Hill runs through proper countryside just outside Leamington Spa, and it's one of those places where you can actually breathe. Built on an old railway line, the flat, well-surfaced route makes it accessible for families who don't fancy wrestling with mud and technical terrain. Expect mature trees, open stretches of grassland, and if you're lucky, sightings of buzzards and rabbits going about their business.

It's not a destination in itself - you won't spend hours here. But as part of a longer cycling day, especially if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks like Warwick Racecourse or Hilltop Hideaways, it's ideal. You could easily knock out a 5-10 mile loop depending on your energy levels and how many photo stops you need. The lack of hills means it works for younger riders or those recovering their fitness.

Go early or late to avoid the dog walkers, though honestly they're part of the charm. Weekday mornings are particularly peaceful. The track connects with other routes in the area, so check locally what you can link up with once you've done the main stretch.

Leamington Spa itself has decent facilities and cafes if you need fuel before or after. It's straightforward enough - no booking needed, no fees. Just turn up, cycle, leave. That's rather refreshing, actually.
