Buttern Hill

The walk up Buttern Hill near Launceston rewards you with proper moorland views that stretch across north Cornwall. It's not a dramatic summit - you're looking at roughly 1,000 feet - but the views back towards Bodmin Moor and across the valleys make the effort worthwhile.

This is walker territory, plain and simple. The climb takes around an hour depending on fitness, and the terrain is open moorland with bracken and gorse. The path is generally clear but gets boggy after rain, so bring proper boots. You'll pass through farmland on the approach, so stick to marked routes.
