About Bully Hill
What you're actually doing here is walking to a viewpoint, essentially. There's no visitor centre or café - bring a flask if you want one. The hill itself is grassland with a few trees, and the real pull is the panorama rather than the destination being dramatic in its own right. Twenty minutes up from the base, half an hour if you're taking photos, and you've got the main experience done.
It works brilliantly as a morning sortie from any of the nearby parks - Into the Wild Glamping is only 2.5 miles away, and Lindsey Trail Touring Park even closer in spirit. The Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape wraps around the area, so you could easily combine this with other walks in the same stretch. Families with school-age kids will find it manageable. Very young children might struggle with the climb; toddlers will absolutely hate it.
Go on a weekday if you can - weekends bring the day-trippers from Lincoln and Newark. Best light is late afternoon, when the sun catches the landscape properly and you're not squinting into glare.
