B&T Brewery

You'd be forgiven for missing B&T Brewery if you weren't actively looking for it - it's tucked away in rural Hertfordshire, east of Henlow, and doesn't exactly broadcast itself from the road. But that's rather the point. This is a working brewery where they actually make beer, and if you manage to visit during opening hours (worth checking ahead, as they're not exactly a major tourist operation), you get to see the whole thing up close.

The appeal is straightforward: proper craft beer made on-site, and the sort of place where the owners know exactly what they're doing because they're the ones doing it. You're not paying for a visitor centre experience here - you're getting the real thing. Most people spend an hour or so looking around, asking questions, and probably ending up with a few bottles in hand. It's not a theme park attraction; if you're expecting a slick tour with a gift shop at the end, manage your expectations.

For beer enthusiasts staying at Henlow Bridge Lakes or Radwell Lake campsite, it's worth the short detour. Families with young kids won't find much to occupy them, but if you're an adult who appreciates knowing where your pint actually comes from, you'll find it refreshing - literally and figuratively.
