The rides here aren't going to rival Blackpool or Alton Towers, but that's rather the point. Brean Leisure Park is the sort of place where a day out means dodgems, a log flume that's more splash than scream, and enough fairground games to part a child from their pocket money. It sits right on the Somerset coast near Burnham-on-Sea, which means you're minutes from the beach itself - proper handy if the weather turns and you need a break from the arcades.

This works best for families with younger kids, say five to twelve. Teenagers will find it a bit tame unless they're after nostalgic fun, and if you're visiting without children, frankly you'd do better at the seafront proper. The park's strength is that casual, low-key vibe - no queuing for two hours, no spending a fortune on a meal deal. You can genuinely cover everything in three or four hours and still catch lunch at somewhere nearby.

Since you're staying at one of the caravan parks clustering around here - Beachside, Yellow Sands, Sandy Glade are all within walking distance - you could make this a rainy-day filler rather than your main event. Combine it with actual beach time, fish and chips, and a stroll along the seafront and you've got a solid day. Check opening times before you go; summer weekends are busier than term-time midweeks, and some rides do seasonal closures.
