The upper floors focus on the social history of Ewell itself - domestic life, schooling, local industry. It's not flashy, but there's genuine care in how things are displayed.

Families with older kids will get more from it than younger ones. The Roman section interests history buffs; the domestic life displays work well if you're exploring how ordinary people actually lived in the Victorian era. Plan for about ninety minutes unless you're just doing a quick circuit.

The real draw is the grounds themselves. The lake walk is lovely, the gardens are well-maintained, and you get a proper sense of what these estates looked like when they actually functioned. It's worth combining with Chessington World of Adventures Resort nearby if you're after a few days in the area - gives you something quieter to balance out the theme park chaos.
