Botley Hill

At 271 metres, Botley Hill isn't going to take your breath away with alpine drama, but it's a proper little vantage point if you're staying in the Henley-in-Arden area and fancy a walk with a view. The summit offers glimpses across Warwickshire's gentle rolling countryside - nothing dramatic, but on a clear day you can see well beyond the immediate landscape.

It's the sort of place walkers use as part of a longer ramble rather than a destination in itself. Families with older kids who don't mind a modest climb will get something out of it, though younger children might find it underwhelming. There's no visitor infrastructure at the top - no café, no benches, no information boards. You come for the walk and the view, not for amenities.

The appeal here is really about combining it with a broader circuit around Henley-in-Arden. It's accessible enough for most fitness levels, and the surrounding footpaths make for pleasant afternoon exploring. If you're camped at Wootton Park Glamping Pods or Mousley House Farm nearby, it's worth investigating as part of your itinerary rather than as a standalone trip. Allow an hour or so depending on where you start from in the village.

Best visited in autumn or late spring when the weather's settled but not scorching. Summer crowds won't be an issue here - you'll likely have the place largely to yourself.
