Borden Wood

Walk into Borden Wood and you're immediately swallowed by tall pines and dense undergrowth - it's the kind of place that feels properly remote despite being just outside Faversham. The forest floor is soft with needles, and on a decent day the dappled light through the canopy is genuinely lovely.

It's a straightforward woodland walk, nothing fancy. You'll find tracks winding through the trees, and if you're lucky enough to catch it when it's quiet, you might spot woodland birds or even deer picking their way through the bracken. The paths are easy underfoot and manageable for families with older kids, though toddlers might struggle with the slightly uneven terrain in places.

How long you need depends entirely on how deep you want to venture. A decent circuit takes an hour or so, but you can easily stretch it to two if you're the type who likes to dawdle and listen to the trees. There's something restorative about it - no crowds, no visitor centre blaring background music, just you and the woods.

It's simply a good, honest walk through English woodland.
