You're only half a mile from Clumber Park, which is worth factoring in. If you're based at one of the nearby caravan sites - Clumber Park itself or The Sherwood Hideaway a bit further out - this makes a decent morning wander before heading somewhere with more facilities. Go in winter or early spring when the woodland floor opens up properly. Summer can feel a bit oppressive in there.
